In the beginning was the word and the word was God and often articulated either with a pitch expressing despair or satisfaction The need to 'speak' as it were, existed ever since man decided to be social and felt it was time to spread confusion as the clarity of thoughts inside the brain seldom came out as a true copy. What we got was something we never could quite understand and the cover up game started with the statement that one was misunderstood. Off-course the politicians of the day took it a step further and claimed it was quoted out of context and the simple lady at home...if that species still exist, came up with that chart busting quote "You don't understand".
So it struck me that communication skills in general and Effective English Communication in particular seem to be still stuck in the past and despite the digital world of technology demands, still remains as confused and misunderstood as ever. If that's anywhere near as right as I think it is, then its time to GO BACK to Basics. Start with a smile even it be plastic to start with and move on to exercise the facial muscles from a grimace to something better than what the cat brought in. This would allow some suction of air, more aperture to the mouth area to deliver the words smoothly and achieve a little bit of air-stock options in the diaphragm. Once you happen to suck in air make sure to check the upper stomach muscles ...feel whether they are tightening ...however briefly that may be. This helps you to play with pause or speed up word cascades and more importantly use projection to ensure 'words' hit the target audience and not fall by the wayside. This makes you a VIP and a master of Voice Image Projection Techniques and isn't that what you want anyway? The throw and the absence of 'drop' make for a capable delivery system for all those thoughts wanting to be voiced and brought into the free world of sound...errr pleasant sounds. Happy chatting folks and I hope you get through!
